A small bench, a lot of sorting
Broviane began in 2021 with one table, a box of amethyst, and a habit of throwing away more beads than we kept. Five years on that has not changed much — four people, eleven steps, and about six beads in ten that make the cut.
Why we throw so much away
A kilo of beads is not a kilo of usable beads. We sort on a sand-colored tray under daylight lamps and set aside anything chipped, cracked, drilled off-center, or a shade away from its neighbors. Roughly four in ten go back.
Eleven steps, four pairs of hands
Sort, wash, dry, lay out, stretch the elastic, rest it, string, tension-check, double-knot, seal, seat the knot inside a bead. Each person owns a stage and checks the one before it.
Small batches on purpose
We make 20 to 40 of a design at a time. It means things sell out, and it also means we can drop a stone batch that arrives badly. Most restocks are about three weeks away.
What we promise
Honest stone names
The listing names the actual stone. No “amethyst-style”, and no dyed quartz sold as something rarer. If a batch is treated, we say so.
Quality issues covered
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, we will make it right.
